Seen at the SHOT Show: Minox APO-HG Binoculars
Stopping by the German pavilion at the 2010 SHOT Show, I discovered the Minox display. Prominently featured among their many fine product offerings were their new top-of-the-line APO-HG binoculars.

Offered in 8×43mm and 10×43mm, these newest additions to the Minox binocular line-up are light in weight and offer an image bright and sharp enough so that even the details of the heavily shadowed cross-beams way up along the ceiling of the Sand’s Exposition Center in which the event was held were clearly visible.
With a street price beginning at just under $1,300.00 U.S. for the 8×43mm model, these new Minox binoculars will be going head to head with other longer-established contenders for the alpha binocular position in the field kit of many birders and hunters alike. From what I could tell under the admittedly less-than-ideal, indoor, fluorescently-illuminated conditions of the SHOT Show venue, there is good reason to think that they are Minox’s best contender yet in the coveted but extraordinarily competitive top-of-the-market bracket.
